I've made a short compositing video. I go over one of the compositions and explain a little about how the render passes are used and how the composition was built.
Hi! Im wondering if you premultiply your alphas? In the middle i kinda thought you didnt but in the end it looked like you had :-) Anyway thanks for the walkthrou, always nice to see how other people comp and GREAT job on the "trailer"!
Dude that was awesome, loved to see some other compositing software other than AE, you showed some pretty nice nuances in fusion, and some nice tips like doubling the res so we can use object IDS (no more endless luma passes =]). Can't wait for the rendering tips...i got curious of that final gather pass, Does it had an especific goal, or just another pass you could tweak? I ask as i'm new to mental ray and render passes... Thx again, and Greetings from Brazil.
Round 6 is a short 3D animated film by Snowball Studios. This blog has been built for the CG community. Here we intend to share whatever information about the project we can - tell about the production process, explain how things were done, etc.
It is recommended to start by reading the first posts.
Thanks a lot for the overview. It was kind of an eye opener :)
ReplyDeleteHey thanks for the next one! :)

ReplyDeleteAcke - we usually render premultiplied alpha's, yea. Though it doesn't really matter in the end.
