TED presentation

I've been meaning to update, but hadn't had the time.
We had an independent TED event (TEDx) in Israel today and we had to prepare a short talk and a video showing some of the work on Round 6 - so we've been a little swamped.
So hopefully, more stuff coming soon.

In the meantime, here's the edit we put together for the TED conference!

  1. Amazing looking concept! When I first saw the trailer on gametrailers, I was really wowed and hyped by how incredible everything was. It really got my heart pumping! Can't wait to see more!

  3. did know which post to comment on this. so here goes: How did you guys do the background animation on leaves/flowers/foliage?

  4. Well, basically we inversely selected all the vertexes close to a proxy object we created that ran through the core of the foliage. Then, when he had the extremities selected, we applied various modifiers to move them around a bit - noises mostly IIRC.
The leaves themselves were also selected (different ID), and then from that selection we reduced, with soft select, the vertex near the branches - and applied some other modifiers making the leaves move a little more rapidly and in smaller turbulences. Many of the objects were instanced, and most of this volume selections and modifiers were off in viewport.
    Hope that answers your question.
